A Message from CUPE BC

Friend,

Over the past year, CUPE BC has been campaigning for a system of public childcare in our existing K-12 system. We are now asking you to help us share our message with provincial decision-makers.

The provincial government has taken big steps to create more affordable childcare spaces for kids five and under. However, these recent investments don’t help those with school-aged children who continue to struggle with high cost, poor supply, and inconsistent quality of care for their kids.

B.C. must now create the thousands of school-age spaces communities need by supporting public before- and after-school programs in our existing public education system.

Public schools already have the space, staff, structure, and expertise to provide high-quality care for kids, who will have fewer transitions and more education-focused care under a universal public system.

Please help send this message by going back to the website and signing our petition to send a letter to the B.C. government.

Thank you for your support.

In solidarity,

Karen Ranalletta, President
