CUPE Local 716 represented employees of the School District #38 before CUPE even existed (in the 50’s). Canada is a very different place than it was in the 50’s – and we are proud to have contributed to positive social change. CUPE continues being on the front-line of work, schools, and communities, pushing to make our society better, more equitable, and just. We care about your children because we are parents also, and good neighbours.
We represent all staff except teachers and management in our 48 schools, and a multitude of district support sites.
What do CUPE School Support Staff Members do? The short answer is… a little bit of everything. Watch the video that touches on just some of the many things are members do every day!
As a chartered organization, our Constitution and Bylaws set out how we operate. We hold elections every May to elect the below positions. This Executive Committee meets every month, and works hard to ensure that your Collective Agreement is being followed. If you have a question about something that is going on at your worksite, your Shop Steward is a great first point of contact, their contact information is below.
There should also be a printed list posted on your CUPE Board. To download a printable version of the current contact list please CLICK HERE.
